 Step 1: Enter number of gears:

Number of sprockets in the rear cluster (max: 10):   Number of chainrings (front, max: 3): 1 2 3   

Tips and notes:

• If you only know the high and low counts of a set, then just choose "2" for the number of gears;
• If any gear-teeth fields are zero or blank, then 0 will be generated for gear and speeds;
• Maximum numbers (10 and 3) are enforced, but no other data checking is performed. (So if you want to try a road race with an 11/30/50 3-speed and a 50 inch wheel, go ahead!)
• If you want an ' in the optional string to use in the title, use the html character ' in its stead.

^* This program now can produce a drawing for each chain-gear combination for the particular set of gears under investigation. When you get to the last screen, you can click on one of the (highlighted) answers in the gear chart to see where the chain would be.
