A brief History of Bike Week in Nanaimo

As part of the planning for Bike Week 2004, I started wondering about what has gone on in the past. So, I took a look at the collection of SpokeLores, and the last four year's posters to come up with his brief summary of Bike Week/Month in Nanaimo. Any errors or ommisions are entirely my fault! The images to the right are either the "official" ones, or whatever I could scan from the relevant SpokeLores. So far, this page is a dry listing of events: it could use some content in the form of "pithy sayings" or other comments. If anybody has anything to add, let me know! Keith Brown

1996. No Bike Week, but Nanaimo participated in its first B.C. Clean Air Challenge (Nanaimo Won!) This was before the formation of the GNCC, which was a few months later, in the fall of the year.
