Minutes of GNCC General meeting — September 23, 2008.

Present: Keith Brown, Chris Bolt, Debby Keith, Jim Kirby

1. Previous meeting notes – review whether they were done?

Keith will check his email and Jim K will also.

A GNCC meeting at Jim and Debby's house was discussed to review what to do with GNCC stuff stored in their basement. What can be turfed, what distributed to promote our cause (eg. Can Bike booklets, etc.).

GNCC website could contain email contacts and phone numbers for direct link to appropriate city departments for people to feedback about road or trail cleanup needed, etc. Keith Brown will do this.

Deb will send Keith the email contacts of people she met at the City Bike meeting held at the Aquatic Centre.

2. Memberships – currently have 29 members.

How to improve membership? Newsletter again? Karen Hunter has volunteered.

Upcoming AGM – Keith to put out an advance notice of the upcoming AGM meeting right away, then follow up with a last minute reminder as well.

Idea from Keith: Random pit stops along cycle commuter routes to hand out GNCC flyers, advice on routes, and solicit members.

Bank balance currently at $242.

Debby and Chris committed to a bike ride promo event in Spring 09. Chris may do it in February. Deb may lead one in April. A group of volunteers would ride around with GNCC brochures (and maybe safety booklets) to the bike stores and other key places.

Previous idea: Burger/ Beer fundraiser night. Deb will talk to Yvonne about her experience and Barbara Hourston about Land Trust experience at Windward. Chris will investigate Harewood Arms details.
